Get your song with Twitch Sings: Stream Star and win a prize

By Keith MitchellMarch 1, 2019
twitch sings stream star

You’ve heard of ‘America’s Got Talent’, ‘The Masked Singer’ and a few other shows that showcase people doing something amazing. Well, looks like Twitch wants to get in on the action with a brand new competition called “Twitch Sings: Stream Star”.

This is for all you current streamers who take to the stage every day and put on their best performance. Twitch wants you to put on a show, with some very nice prizes in store.  A great idea and one that makes me wonder why we haven’t seen anything like this before.

Introducing Twitch Sings: Stream Star, our first EVER singing competition. Win a trip to TwitchCon Europe to compete, live on-stage, for $20,000.

Think you have what it takes to be crowned champion? The road to Berlin starts here: https://t.co/0xuo9yOmfe pic.twitter.com/zEAlod3Zrh

Sign-ups are live now, head over to https://singsbeta.twitch.tv/1/signup. You’ll be contacted within 1-2 days with directions on how to proceed. But don’t dally, as the sign-ups will close on March 5th at 11:59 PM PST / March 5 2:59 AM EST.

Interested in how all this will work? Well, check out the details and more below.

Sign-Up

  • Sign-up for the Twitch Sings beta
  • Beta sign-ups are capped at 10,000, so only the first 10,000 sign-ups will get in.
  • You will receive an invite by email within 24-48 hours of signing-up
  • The deadline to sign-up is March 5th at 11:59PM PT

Submit

  • Using Twitch Sings, select a song from the Twitch Sings catalog, go live, then Save & Publish the song to Twitch. You may do this as many times as you’d like until you have selected your favorite performance.
  • To submit, you will need the video’s URL. You can find your video on your Twitch Channel under the Video tab.
  • Once you’ve found your favorite, you can submit it here. You may only submit once!
  • Recommended: create a clip of up to sixty (60) seconds of your recording and share with us on Twitter, tagging @TwitchSings and using the hashtags #StreamStar #CastingCall (heads-up: we might retweet you!).
  • Submissions close on March 7th at 11:59PM PT*.

Ok, I submitted. Now what?

  • After we have reviewed all submissions, Twitch will select the top eight (8) performances to compete in a round of semi-finals, live on Twitch.
  • We will let semi-finalists know they have been selected by March 19th at the email address you provide in this form.
  • During the semi-finals show (date TBA), Twitch viewers will vote to narrow down to four (4) finalists.
  • These four (4) finalists will get a trip to Berlin for TwitchCon Europe where they will compete, live on-stage, for the grand prize of $20,000.

Good luck to everyone that signs up and competes. I don’t know why, but I’m excited about this. I’ve watched my fair share of amazing performers on Twitch and this contest should intense many of those to get out and strut their stuff. If anything, this is going to make for some great performances, some laughs and a good time for all. I’m down with that.
