It was announced via Square Enix’s official Final Fantasy Twitter account that Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT Free Edition will be coming to the West. The game will launch on March 12 for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.

The official Tweet can be seen below:

Wikipedia describes Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT as follows:

Set long after the events of the previous two Dissidia titles, but before the arcade version, the dimension of World B is revitalized for a conflict between Materia (マーテリア Māteria), the goddess of protection, and Spiritus (スピリタス Supiritasu), the god of destruction, who respectively summon the warriors of Cosmos and Chaos as their champions. Unlike their prior involvements, the summoned warriors retain their memories of both the previous war and their original worlds,[7] which are used to expand World B, while the mystical energy created from their battles maintains it.

The game originally released in Japan back in November and offers an alternative for those who are unwilling to pay for the full version of the game. The free version contains a limited amount of roster members that will rotate, similar to how a MOBA like League of Legends or Heroes of the Storm handle their free characters. Weapons will also be handled in the same fashion.  You will be given the option to purchase the characters individually to permanently add them to your lineup.
