Bayonetta 3 Confirmed For 2019 Release By Nintendo

By Todd BlackFebruary 17, 2019
Bayonetta 3

Platinum Games and Nintendo seem to have a very good relationship going on. It started out on the Wii U, when the developer made the cult classic game The Wonderful 101, then shocked the world by not only bringing the first two Bayonetta games to the system, but also, making the sequel a Wii U exclusive. This was followed up by many awards for Bayonetta 2 due to how masterful a game it was, and Bayonetta 3 was a guarantee at that point.

And now, as revealed during the recent Nintendo Direct, Platinum is making Astral Chain, which is very much Platinum Games in its design and content. But though it was shown in detail at the Direct, Bayonetta 3 was only spoken about in words, that development was “still under way”. However, during a podcast, Bill Trinnen of Nintendo gave some more confirmation about the title while talking about Astral Chain:

“This is what I think is so great about the partnership between Nintendo and Platinum Games,” said Trinen speaking about the recently announced Astral Chain, another Switch joint from PlatinumGames. “Because to me, I look at [Astral Chain] and I see the kind of intense action game that historically you haven’t seen a lot of on Nintendo platforms. With this collaboration with PlatinumGames, being able to bring stuff like that… and knowing that they mentioned, of course,Bayonetta 3, [which is] still in the works, it really helps to round out the library overall of what’s available on Switch. And of course, that’s another game that’s maybe coming a little bit sooner than people anticipated, later this year.”

Many hoped that the game would release in 2019, but it was still uncertain, especially after the Nintendo Direct didn’t do anyone any favors in regards to details.

Now, we just have to wait and see when it is revealed, and when it is dated. Regardless of the time for either, this game will continue to boost the magnificent lineup that the Nintendo Switch has coming this year.
