Apex Legends Keeps On Smashing Records, Up To 25 Million Players

When Apex Legends first released on February 4th, it managed to hit one million players in eight hours. Then it hit 2.5 million players, followed up by 10 million players and one million concurrent. At that point, no one knew how much bigger the game would grow.

As of today, Vince Zampella of Respawn Entertainment dropped even more impressive numbers. Over 25 million players and “well over two million concurrent players”.

Been waiting all day to tell you this madness… @PlayApex hit 25 million players this morning. Read more about it at the link below. Remember we have Season One starting in March and more surprises coming. https://t.co/gwj1sZSQnY

Those are some mighty impressive numbers for a game that was not only released less than a week ago. But one that many felt would flop due to the game being under EA’s umbrella and lacking those lovable Titans since the game exists in the Titanfall universe. Yet, here we are with a game that’s running circles around its competition, including some of the bigger names out there.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Zampella has already stated that new characters will be appearing in the game in the future As will new weapons, more loot, and the game’s first Battle Pass

There’s also the possibility of the immensely popular game making its way to iOS and Android devices. In a recent earnings call, Andrew Wilson, the CEO of Electronic Arts, confirmed that the company is considering bringing the game to the mobile platforms. Complete with cross-platform play features, which would echo what both Epic Games and PUBG Incorporated have done with Fortnite and PUBG.

Finally, thanks to some clever datamining, it looks like the game may also get the highly requested Duo and Solo modes in the future as well.

Whether this actually happens are not has yet to be confirmed, and just because the modes are referenced doesn’t mean they’re coming. On the same token, it doesn’t mean they aren’t either.

Apex Legends is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, for free. Have you checked it out? Let us know.
