Here’s How You Can Get In On The Mortal Kombat 11 Beta

By Keith MitchellJanuary 18, 2019
Mortal Kombat 11

Did you see the Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event that took place a few days ago? To say we’re hyped about the game is an understatement, for sure. Did you also happen to catch the news about the upcoming beta as well? It’s set to take place on March 28, 2019, and we’re here to tell you how you can get involved.

How To Snag Access To The Beta

The only way to score a beta code is to pre-order the game for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. These are the only platforms that the beta will be available on. It’s not going to be available for the PC (ARGH!!) or the Switch. It doesn’t matter if you pre-order either the standard edition or the premium edition in stores or online,  or the Kollector’s edition exclusively at Gamestop. Pre-ordering the digital copy also means the beta is tied to your account, so you won’t be provided a code. So in the off chance, you don’t want to play the beta and want to give it to a friend. Then getting the physical version is the way to go.

It’s worth mentioning that pre-ordering the game also will provide access to Shao Kahn as well.

Outside of this, I’m sure that Warner Bros. and company will be dishing out plenty of codes via social media. So be on the lookout for those as well.

What’s In The Beta

While the beta starts on March 28, 2019, we don’t know what is going to be included. That means the number of fighters, the stages and even the modes that will available is unknown at this point.

As for Mortal Kombat 11, it looks like Netherrealm Studios wants to take what worked in MKX and has ramped it up. The combat system is tweaked, the fatalities are, er… more fatal. And damn does the game look good, thanks to it running on a highly modified, NetherRealm version of the Unreal Engine 3. There’s also a few returning characters, such as Scarlet and Baraka, as well as a new character, Geras.

We’ll see you online in the beta! Finish Him!

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The Switch version has been delayed with no known release.
