Dead or Alive 6 Delayed Until March 1 2019; Possible Demo Incoming

A bit of sad news for fighting game fans. Koei Tecmo’s and Team Ninja’s upcoming fighter, Dead or Alive 6, has been delayed.

The fighter was originally scheduled for February 15, 2019, release date. However, we were recently notified by the company that the game is being delayed for some extra development work. The producer of the game, Yohei Shimbori, regrets the delay and offered the following statement;

“The title’s development is already near complete; however, we would like to take more time to further polish its balance, gameplay, and expressivity. In return for your patience, we commit to bringing you the best DEAD OR ALIVE gaming experience”. “I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the release delay of DEAD OR ALIVE 6.”

As we always say, if a title is being delayed for some extra development work, then no one should be upset about that. It just goes to show that the developer wants to put out the best that they possibly can.

That said, maybe the delay is for the best as February 15 was already loaded with several blockbusters. Crackdown 3, Far Cry: New Dawn, Jump Force, Metro Exodus are all releasing the same day. With Anthem following it up on February 22, 2019, that’s a really busy gaming schedule for sure.

However, it’s not all bad news as the company has been teasing demo for the game that might be released soon.

Dead or Alive 6 is Koei Tecmo’s most recent fighting title and has been developed with a completely new game engine that company had been developing over the past three years. This new engine will allow for more fluid gameplay, as well as those physics that DOA fans all love.

Dead or Alive 6 will arrive on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, when released on March 1, 2019.
