NieR:Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition Is Heading To The PS4 And Steam

NieR: Automata

Hot of yesterday’s cryptic tweet from Square Enix, the NieR: Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition has been announced for the PlayStation 4 and Steam. It will be priced at $39.99 and be released on Feb.26, 2019.

Let’s be honest, we expected something like this to happen. The original game was released on the PS4 and Steam, and eventually released on the Xbox One earlier this year as the NieR:Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition. Which is exactly what we’re getting in the Game of the YoRHa edition (GOTY) All the same DLC, as well as in-game items, will be available in this new edition for the PS4 and PC.

  • 3C3C1D119440927 Expansion DLC
  • Four pod designs (Grimoire Weiss Pod, Retro Grey Pod Skin, Retro Red Pod Skin, and Cardboard Pod Skin)
  • Machine Mask Accessory

Hopefully, this also means that the PS4 and PC versions will receive better-optimized ports.  The original game on both platforms wasn’t able to maintain 1080 60FPS, let alone a decent framerate at higher resolutions on PC. However, previously released Xbox One version when running on the Xbox One X, well it’s a thing of beauty. I want that for this release. Please don’t let us down, Square Enix.

As for NieR: Automata, it’s a game that must be played. The music, the combat, the atmosphere, and even Yoko Taro’s weird humor – makes this game a masterpiece. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the title, so I even went and imported it, then followed that up with the NA release. If that doesn’t tell you that I was in love with this game, I don’t know what else will. If you haven’t played it yet or aren’t sure at what to expect, then check out our review of the game here.
