ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove Receives Gameplay Trailer

By Josh PiedraDecember 10, 2018
ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove

Back in 2015, HumaNature Studios (which was founded by Greg Johnson, the creator of ToeJam & Earl), opened up a Kickstarter in order to make the fourth installment in the gaming series: ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove. The original Kickstarter goal of $400,000 was met and the game was tagged with a 2016 release date; however, here we are about to head into 2019 and we still have not yet received the game.

That doesn’t mean the studio hasn’t been working on it, though. In fact, it received some help along the way when Adult Swim announced that they were partnering with the dev studio to help them publish the game. ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove did fail to meet its stretch goals to bring it to console; however, during a 2017 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced that the game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Later in April, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game were confirmed!

Things took a turn when Adult Swim announced back in June that they would no longer be publishing the game. Instead, HumaNature Studios would publish the game digitally while Limited Run Games will publish physical editions for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch, leaving Xbox One fans with digital as their only option. The release date was pushed back to early 2019 which brings us to today where HumaNature Studios unveiled the gameplay trailer for the game!

We’re almost to the finish line! Until we reach it, check out the gameplay footage below!
