Matt Damon, Jason Momoa, and Claire Foy To Host Saturday Night Live

By Jacob SmithNovember 27, 2018

Saturday Night Live manages to keep its constant stream of celebrity hosts fresh and varied, with each season featuring a slew of comedians and actors who have, so far this season, done an excellent job at supplementing the humor the current incredibly talented cast provides. December is shaping up to be another month to look forward to from the hit sketch show, as Claire Foy, Jason Momoa and Matt Damon will each host the next three episodes.

Kicking off the month will be the star of the Netflix drama The Crown, Claire Foy, whose Emmy winning performance in the series has made her a recognizable face. The First Man actress will kick off the run of episodes going through the holiday season as SNL returns from its annual brief Thanksgiving hiatus. She will be joined by musical guest Anderson .Paak following the release of his star studded album Oxnard.

Jason Momoa, hot off his big role in season three of the Netflix original Frontier, will host his first Saturday Night Live episode on the December 8. In addition to Frontier‘s recent season, the world is anticipating the theatrical debut of Aquaman, a star role which he has openly spoke about being excited to play. Momoa’s star power truly began soaring after the first season of Game of Thrones in which he played the brutal Dothraki warrior Khal Drogo, and ever since then he’s been near and dear to the hearts of many fans. His undeniable charm and thrill for adventure have been put on full display for the world, and it’s hard to think of a way those things won’t translate to a fun episode. Mumford and Sons will feature as the episode’s musical guest, there to promote their latest album.

SNL tends to bring big name stars on board with frequency, even if they don’t have an upcoming release to promote. Fitting nicely into that mold, Matt Damon will make his way onto the stage December 15, with Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson taking the mic as that week’s musical guest. His uproariously hilarious depiction of Brett Kavanaugh earlier in the season was a moment of catharsis for many, and is a pretty good indicator of why he was asked to host for his second time around. Damon will be back on the set for the first time in sixteen years to make a hopefully triumphant return.
