PlayStation Finally Gives Us The Full PlayStation Classic Title Line-up

By Keith MitchellOctober 29, 2018
Here comes the PlayStation Classic

Here we go folks, the full list of titles that will be available on the upcoming PlayStation Classic. They definitely took their sweet time to announce this all, didn’t they? So let’s jump right in and say that I’m not completely thrilled with all the games on the list. Sure, there are some really good titles here, but there are also some questionable ones as well.

Check out the full list below:

  • Battle Arena Toshinden
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Destruction Derby
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Grand Theft Auto
  • Intelligent Qube
  • Jumping Flash!
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Mr. Driller
  • Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
  • Rayman
  • Resident Evil Director’s Cut
  • Revelations: Persona
  • Ridge Racer Type 4
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tekken 3
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
  • Twisted Metal
  • Wild Arms

That’s not to say this isn’t a bad list, but c’mon…. Mr. Driller? Twisted Metal 1 over Twisted Metal 2? Cool Boarders 2 over both Tony Hawk Pro Skater?  There’s no Crash Bandicoot or even Spyro the Dragon on here, nor Jax and Dexter. As I said, there are definitely some questionable choices here. Still, there are a lot of amazing games (from that era) on the list. Though, I’m happy to see that Battle Arena Toshinden and Destruction Derby made the list. I loved those games. But of course, you knew we’d see Final Fantasy VII make the list.

Meanwhile, our fellow gamers across the sea get a completely different list that includes Gradius Gaiden, Arc the Lad 1 and 2, as well as Armored Core. Why the heck didn’t we get those games? I wonder who curated this list of games for the North American market.

Even more, I wonder how soon this system is going to be hacked, so we can add our own games to the system. Also, will this thing be able to use other USB controllers? Perhaps even some custom fight sticks so we can get our Tekken 3 on? Oh, I can’t wait to find out.

The PlayStation Classic will be released on December 3, 2018. Trust me when I say that they’ll likely sell out pretty fast. So If you want one, you’ll like want to pre-order one. Especially if you’re trying to get one for a gift this shopping season.
