Iori Yagami Joins the Roster of SNK Heroines as MissX

By Zachery PaikaiOctober 25, 2018
MissX joins the roster of SNK Heroines

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy’s next DLC starlet is a familiar face, but with a bit more feminine charm. Yes, the brooding Iori Yagami of the King of Fighters series will be joining the roster on November 15th. And of course, this means receiving the gender-bent treatment to fit the game’s all-female cast. Just as Terry Bogard and Skullomania did before him, Iori Yagami has become a woman and will be referred to as MissX in this title.

Honestly, Iori Yagami, or should I say MissX doesn’t seem to mind the transformation all too much. Hell, he’s even rockin’ the outfit of his arch-rival Kyo Kusanagi. I suppose anything is possible with a change of perspective or with the development team for SNK Heroines…

*Update* Here’s an interesting tidbit of info, to which I was previously unaware of until today. MissX is a returning character from SNK Gal’s Fighters, which was released on the Neo Geo Pocket Color. In SNK Gal’s Fighters, a tournament is organized by MissX, who happens to just be Iori Yagami dressed as a woman. Therefore, the MissX of SNK Heroines might actually be Iori Yagami in drag. This explains the trailer’s title piece “MissX Bends the Rules”, as well as Iori Yagami’s male voice that can be heard throughout the video.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is currently available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

From the Hawaiian islands, Nanaue, the Prince of Sharks first appeared. This shark man was uncontested in terms of video game prowess. His notoriety of being a top-tier game wiz angered the envious locals and eventually forced Nanaue into exile. His hunger for competition and game knowledge grew as time past. This in tow, leads him to delve into the sea of writing and gaming culture.
