THQ Nordic Announces Their Post-launch Content Plans For Darksiders III

By Keith MitchellOctober 11, 2018
Darksiders III - She's on fire!

While we’re here counting the days until THQ Nordic’s release of Darksiders III, it seems the company has some exciting post-launch news. According to THQ Nordic, they’re prepping not one but two pieces of DLC for the title.  Both of which will add new areas to explore, news items and of course a slew of new enemies.

The Crucible

Fury’s presence has been requested by a strange entity wishing to test her skills in battle.  Never one to back down from a challenge, Fury accepts the invitation and gains access to a location known only as the Crucible.  Here Fury will fight wave after wave of enemies, competing for a chance to unlock new rewards and items.

Keepers of the Void

On a quest from Vulgrim, Fury must travel into the Serpent Holes to remove an ancient threat that resides there.  The Serpent Holes are riddled with new puzzles and enemies eager to test Fury’s abilities. If Fury prevails, she will unlock all-new weapon from the Hollows, as well as the biggest prize of them all: The Abyssal Armor.

As it reads, it seems like The Crucible will be similar to a horde mode – which sounds interesting to me. While Keepers of the Void looks to add more story-driven content to the game. While I’m not typically a fan of DLC being announced to a title being released, it’s not to see that THQ Nordic has already planned to support the game for a while.

In Darksiders III, you take the role of Fury – one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. You’re tasked with hunting down and wiping out the Seven Deadly Sins, as ordered by the Charred Council. Fail and there will be consequences. But, can they be trusted? Are you doing the right thing? Or is this task part of a more devious and unknown plot?

Darksiders III will be released on November 27, 2018, for the PS4, Xbox On,e and PC. It also happens to be my birthday, so I know what I’ll be doing that day.
