Onimusha: Warlords Gets Freshly Cut Gameplay Action Trailer

By Zachery PaikaiOctober 8, 2018
Onimusha: Warlords

capcom‘s Onimusha: Warlords, the HD remaster, receives a new trailer highlighting the combat of both the game’s protagonists, Samonosuke (samurai) and Kaede (ninja). Samurai, ninjas, and demons clashing in tightly knit areas on a 3D plane? Sounds like my cup of sake’, and perhaps yours too; go ahead and take a look at that high-res gameplay down below.

The PS2 classic receives a second wind with higher resolution on modern consoles, but there are other features aside from the refined looks to get excited about. A widescreen mode (16:9) is now available and you can switch on the fly in-game between this and the original mode (4:3). Screen scrolling comes bundled with the freshly added widescreen mode and will allow players to get a more expansive look at their surroundings. Analog functionality is here, as too are the original controls. And for those looking for a fun, relaxed stroll with a sword-in-hand then luckily for you (and possibly me) the new Easy mode will deliver on that front. You can peep the official Onimusha: Warlords’ website for all this info and more.

I’ve never played any title from the Onimusha series, but I think I’ll finally give the series a go with the remastered Onimusha: Warlords. I always appreciate a good remaster because it presents a convenient opportunity to play games that I may have missed out on. For instance, I played The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker for the first time thanks to the remaster on the Wii U and it ended up being one of my favorite games. I’m sure other people share the same sentiment too.

You can check out our previous coverage for Onimusha: Warlords right here on The Outerhaven.

Onimusha: Warlords will unsheath itself onto playstation 4, XBox one, Nintendo Switch, and PC next year come January 15, 2019.

From the Hawaiian islands, Nanaue, the Prince of Sharks first appeared. This shark man was uncontested in terms of video game prowess. His notoriety of being a top-tier game wiz angered the envious locals and eventually forced Nanaue into exile. His hunger for competition and game knowledge grew as time past. This in tow, leads him to delve into the sea of writing and gaming culture.
