Bumblebee’s New Official Trailer Is All my Childhood Rolled Up Into One

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t too thrilled that Bumblebee was getting his own movie. I’m a Prime guy, myself. That said, what I’ve seen in the past few months looked promising. However, nothing and I mean nothing could have prepared me for the official trailer that was released recently.

OMG OMG OMG OMG. Are those Transformer G1 designs? Starscream looks like Starscream. Shockwave looks like Shockwave! And Soundwave, he freaking ejected Ravage and he transformed in the air and OMG, I need to see this movie.

Now for those that are a bit confused about it all, let’s break it all down. After the last Michael Bay Transformer flick, everything is being rebooted. Meaning that we won’t see Unicron (which I would have loved to see). Instead, the Transformer movie universe is going in a different direction. Ok, that much we know. This new Bumblebee isn’t part of that. Instead, this movie takes place 20 some years ahead of the first live action movie. Meaning this movie doesn’t have to follow the aftermath of the other movies and the story can be whatever it wants to be. We saw some of this in previous movies where the Transformers had taken part of many of Earth’s battles and were mentioned throughout history. So, this much is good.

So once this movie is out and done, that’s it. No more Transformers movies for now. There’s something being planned and whatever it is, Transformers 6 or whatever it was being called is canceled. As for the Bumblebee movie, I consider it a “Thanks for watching” sort of thing. It’s a one-shot, with the story being wrapped up nicely after the credits roll.

As for the story, I still have so many questions. But they’ll have to wait for now. With the New York Comic Con quickly approaching, I’m sure we’ll get some more story and what’s what for the movie. Other than that, I can’t wait to watch this movie and feel all that nostalgia transport me back to a time when I was younger.
