Devolver Digital jokingly tells Rockstar Games that they’ll publish Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC

By Keith MitchellSeptember 20, 2018
Red Dead Redemption 2

While Red Dead Redemption 2 is releasing very soon for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the PC gamers are being left out in the cold. Again, it would seem. However, publisher Devolver Digital is trying to put an end to that.

When Rockstar Games released details about the upcoming Red Dead online beta, Devolver Digital replied back to the company. “Hello, we’d like to publish your new cowboy game on PC.”. I’m sure it’s a joke, but at the same time, I’d love for it not to be.

Anyhoo, DMs are open.

Rockstar Games has yet to reply to this. I don’t know if they’re looking at each other like what just happened. Or perhaps they’re actually entertaining the idea.

Again, I’m 100% this is a joke. Rockstar Games already has a publisher in Take Two Interactive. They also haven’t announced any PC version of the game. And sadly, it doesn’t seem like they plan on it either. That, or it’s going to be another Grand Theft Auto V situation. While the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTAV were released in September 2013. It wasn’t until E3 2014 that the PC version was announced alongside the PS4 and Xbox One versions.

While those versions were released in November 2014, the PC version didn’t come along until April 2015! That’s two years later. I don’t think I can wait another two years to play Red Dead Redemption 2. I’d love for a PC version, but my gut tells me it won’t happen.

Still, I applaud Devolver Digital for at least making an attempt. They’re the hero we don’t deserve and I’d love for something to come out of this.

Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26, 2018, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
