This animated trailer for Dead Cells is hilariously good

Dead Cells, the rogue-lite, Castlevania-inspired action-platformer release date is close at hand. In fact, the title leaves early access on Steam and arrives on the PS4, Xbox One and Switch as of August 7th.

To celebrate the occasion, Motion Twin released this hilarious animated trailer. In it, we see the protagonist as he struggles to deal with the dangers the surround him. It’s very well done, kudos to the animator, Bobby Prod.

Check out the trailer below and I dare you not to smile or laugh. Seriously, I’ll pay you if you don’t manage to crack a smile the first time you see this trailer.

See, I knew you’d smile. Don’t ask me how I just know you did.

As for Dead Cells, it’s an amazing game. I’ve had the pleasure of playing it and watching it evolve ever since PAX East 2017. It’s a title that takes the permadeath features from roguelike titles and tosses in some Metroidvania in regards to the platforming and structuring. If you die in your adventures, you’ll return to the start of the game, sure. However, any equipment you find or earn are yours to keep, as are your perks you unlock.  The result is an enjoyable adventure, or at least it has been for me. There’s also time trials that pit you against games across the globe and the combat system keeps things lively.

Dead Cells releases on August 7, 2018, on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. Now, Motion Twin… about that frying pan weapon. We need that!
