PlayStation Plus Games for August of 2018 Announced

By VeronicaAugust 2, 2018
PlayStation Plus Games

It’s that time once again – Sony has shared the upcoming free PlayStation Plus games, and August is shaping up to be a pretty solid month for subscribers. Mafia III and Dead by Daylight will be available free for download next week, along with a PSVR game and a PlayLink game. Mafia III follows Lincoln Clay after he returns from the Vietnam War, attempting to exact revenge on the Italian mob by starting his own organized crime group. The game was praised for its story when it released in 2016, but reception to its gameplay was a bit mixed. In addition, Dead by Daylight also goes live next week, a 4v1 horror game that pits a group of survivors against a killer. It’s like a more polished Friday the 13th: The Game that continues to receive updates.

PSVR users will also get an additional horror game, Here They Lie. The first-person horror experience has you explore a city filled with creepy encounters. Unlike the other games, this title will be available for free from August 7th to October 10th. And finally, Knowledge is Power is a PlayLink trivia game (meaning you use a smartphone companion app to play). This will also be available beyond the month of August, from August 7th to November 6th.

If anything, subscribers can expect a diverse lineup of games to try this August. The full list is as follows:

  • Mafia III (PS4)
  • Dead by Daylight (PS4)
  • Bound by Flame (PS3)
  • Serious Sam BFE (PS3)
  • Draw Slasher (PS Vita)
  • Space Hulk (PS Vita)
  • Here They Lie (PSVR)
  • Knowledge is Power (PS4 PlayLink)

PS Plus games are free for download the first Tuesday of the month, which is August 7th. That means subscribers have until then to get last month’s games, which featured Heavy Rain and Absolver for PS4.
