Popular battle royale title Realm Royale is heading to PS4 and Xbox One

You knew this was coming

Ever since HiRezStudios latest title, Realm Royale, was released onto Steam as an Early Access title. It’s been extremely successful and has been able to find its a niche in the crowded battle royale market, where others have failed. Now, it’s making its way to the PS4 and Xbox One. Much to the excitement of console owners who have been watching the game from afar.

Realm Royale is coming to @Xbox and @PlayStation… And Closed Beta starts next week!

While there’s no ETA on when we’ll see the game, as the tweet states, there is a closed beta for the title. If you want to partake, just head on over to www.realmroyale.com, sign up and cross your fingers.

But why is Realm Royale so popular, with PUBG and Fortnite still dominating? Well, thanks to HiRezStudios unique gameplay features, the game has managed to carve out a niche for its self.

Unlike the previously mentioned games, in Realm Royale, getting knocked (not dead, but not able to defend yourself) doesn’t mean your downed. Instead, you’re turned into a giant blue chicken with a countdown. Manage to survive the countdown and you’ll be able to get back into the fight. Then there’s the forging ability. During a game, you’re able to disassemble items you don’t want anymore, into shards. These shares can then be used to craft more powerful weapons at a forge. However, this also leaves you open to attack and if you die then your attacker gains access to any items you were crafting. Finally, there are the different classes. In every current BR game, you’re given just one class. Here, can choose from five different classes; Engineer, Warrior, Assassin, Mage, and Hunter. Each one possessing a unique ability, similar to a hero shooter or MOBA.

Oh, did I also forget that it’s a Free to Play game as well? That must have slipped my mind. Silly me.

As you can see, Realm Royale has a lot going for it and it’s no wonder why it’s taking the BR community by storm. It’s no wonder HiRez is eager to get the game on to the Xbox One and PS4. The only questions that remain are, will it have cross-platform play and where’s the Nintendo Switch version?
