The First Trailer For ‘Creed 2’ Definitely Packs A Punch

By Keith MitchellJune 20, 2018

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, let’s get ready for the fight of the year! In one corner we have Michael B. Jordan, reprising his role as the son of Apollo Creed, Adonis Creed. In the other, we have the son of Ivan Drago played by Romanian boxer, Florian Munteanu, Yes folks, we have a ‘Creed 2’ on our hands.

Ok, yes, I’m pretty excited about this. As someone who grew up on the Rocky films of the past, I wasn’t exactly sold on Creed. That is until I went to watch it and then went back a day later to watch it again. I loved it. And now, we’re right back into the ring with a recreation of sorts of Rocky IV. Sadly, in that film, favorite Apollo Creed died to Ivan Drago. I’m sure things are going to play out a bit differently here. At least I hope so, but judging from the trailer, Creed definitely has his hands full as we first see him laying in a hospital bed.

Who did this? All fingers are pointing to Viktor Dragon, son of Ivan Drago who’ll be played by Florian Munteanu. While we don’t see him much in the trailer, we do eventually see him in the end. Even if it’s briefly. This guy is imposing in real life, I don’t think I’d want to meet him in a dark alley. And he’s been working out even more for Creed 2.

As for Adonis, well he’s got a lot on his mind. His late father, what this fight means to him and what he wants everyone to remember. Hopefully, it won’t be a “like father, like son” movie.

Creed 2 is set to be released in theaters on November 22, 2018. That’s Thanksgiving 2018 for those in the U.S.
