Everything Announced For Pokemon On The Nintendo Switch

Everything You Need To Know From The Pokemon Let’s Go Announcement

Yesterday, Nintendo shocked the world with new information regarding their popular Pokemon series. A new title and features were announced for the Nintendo Switch and mobile, however, nothing for the Nintendo 3DS.

Below is everything announced.

Pokemon Quest

The first game that came from the Pokemon announcement is Pokemon Quest. This is a game for mobile and the Nintendo Switch. Currently, it is available now on the Nintendo Switch for free and will be released in June for mobile. Pokemon Quest is not a core series game. Pokemon Quest takes place in ‘Tumblecube Island’ where everything is more block-like and squared.

There you will be able to make friends with different Pokemon, purchase ‘Power Stones’ which make your Pokemon stronger and go on expeditions. Your Pokemon also move on their own and will attack too. You can also give them orders. Enemy Pokemon come in a wave-based stage.

Pokemon Let’s Go: Eevee and Pikachu is the next announcement for Pokemon.  The game is an animated world full RPG with Pokemon in the over-world. The game will be released November 16, 2018. Pokemon Let’s Go is based on Pokemon Yellow  and your Pikachu and Eevee will have customization.

Since the game is on the Nintendo Switch, motion controls will be used. In addition to this a ‘Pokeball Plus’ will be released with the game and can be used for catching Pokemon.

There will be no wild Pokemon battles, but Pokemon Let’s Go will feature trainer battles. There is no current online features planned for the game. It is not stated how you will catch Pokemon since there are no wild encounters, but you will be able to transfer ‘Kanto’ Pokemon from Pokemon GO. With this, ‘Alolan Exeggutor’ is released in Pokemon GO.

Some other features in Pokemon Let’s Go is that there will be two players local mode. Pokemon appear to be ride-able as a character is seen riding an Onix. Since this is not a core series game it is unlikely that this will affect competitive battling in any way.

There was a trailer released for the game which you can find: HERE

At the end of the trailer, it is stated that there will be a gift never seen before in the series.

Pokemon Core Series

Not much has been said for this game other than a few points from a Q&A.

The game is based on X and Y style and the name has not been released yet. It will be handheld focused.

Are you excited for the recent announcement? Are you sad that Nintendo hasn’t announced anything for the 3DS? Sound off in the comments below.
