Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild Surpasses 1 Million Sales In Japan

Breath of the Wild Review

In the recent issue of Famitsu, it was announced that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has sold over the one million mark in Japan for both Switch and Wii U versions. Note that this is in Japan only and not talking worldwide sales. Last year from release to December 2017,  the Switch version alone sold around 6.7 million total alone in the West. This was beyond the attach rate of the Switch console sale itself.

The current record holder for best Zelda game currently Twilight Princess at 8.85 million for both Wii and GameCube versions. While it has been a year since Breath of the Wilds release and steam has died, it may not be too far off for it to overtake Twilight Princess and become the top selling Zelda of all time.

This is good to see that recognition is present and that customers are enjoying the product. While it may not be perfect, it is near close to what Zelda  should be and more. No doubt that it will be the standard for all Zelda games in the future.  Check up on our review of the game as Todd Black describes as a “masterful legend.”

Now I need to finish this game before then…
