Nintendo Announces 2 Tournaments For E3 2018, One Will Be Smash Bros For Switch

By Todd BlackMarch 22, 2018
Super Smash Bros

Nintendo did an amazing job at E3 2017. It revealed many new games, killed it during the Nintendo Treehouse presentations, and then had the World Championships for both Smash Bros Wii U and Splatoon 2. Well now, Nintendo has revealed that they’re doing it all over again for E3 2018. But this time, it’ll be the new Smash Bros game for Switch!

Check out the “reveal” trailer for this.

It’s unclear how this will work, but then again, we don’t know how long Smash for Switch has been in production. If it’s been a while, then it could be ready for a tournament. Some believe that because this is an invitational tournament (and Nintendo likely invited certain players), that the game we’ll see will only feature characters that will no doubt be back in the game. I.E Mario, Link, DK, Peach, Bowser, Marth, Pit, etc. Through that logic, it would be easy to view the tournament build as a demo of sorts.

There’s a lot of questions, and we likely won’t get answers until E3 or a Nintendo Direct right before it. But you can bet we’re going to talk about it on the next episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast!
