I can’t say for sure if it was intentional or just what happens when you base a giftbook on an older mobile game because this book does have hints on how to collect any cats you’re missing. The game left you in the dark about cats you didn’t meet, representing them with question marks. All of the cats are featured in this book and appear mostly in the order that they seem to arrive in the game (at least in my game).

I think this is a perfect gift for that cat lover in your life with a strange addiction to Neko Atsume Kitty Collector. I read it in one sitting on the subway and immediately attracted people from nearby who were asking me where they could get a copy of the book. The brand recognition made it easy to strike up a conversation about the game with people sitting nearby.
The Haikus are cute and make this an accessible book for children. I can’t talk for new generations but for me, Haikus were introduced in the third grade. Assuming nothing has changed, an elementary school student shouldn’t have any issues reading this book alone or with assistance.
