GDC Report Proves Developers Are Getting Great Sales On Nintendo Switch

By Todd BlackJanuary 25, 2018
Nintendo Switch

When praise is heaped on a console, you have to wonder if it’s deserved. But, when a TON of praise is heaped on a console, you kind of have to believe it. For the Nintendo Switch, it’s deserved just about every praise its gotten, and that’s not about to end.

GDC, the Game Developers Conference, has released a very interesting survey. A survey, that happens to feature 4,000 developers weighing in on certain topics. One of those topics was how well the Nintendo Switch versions of their games were selling. Well, according to 84% of developers who partook in the question, the Switch sales have been on par or above what other versions of their games have sold.

Think about that, that means that in year one with (around) 15 million units sold, the Nintendo Switch is beating consoles and other systems that have been around for much longer, and have a bigger install base. This confirms what numerous indie game developers have said about the system, it sells games. And that’s awesome.
