Wait, this is still the Xbox One X. Right?

Here we go Forza Horizon 3 fans that just happen to own an Xbox One X. That 4K asset update that you’ve been drooling over for months is now available. And the wait was well worth it.

For just 650 MB, the Xbox One X now has one of the prettiest version of Forza Horizon 3. Well, at least on the consoles. But what does this update give you? For starters, there are the updated 4K assets and they look good. Not to mention that the development crew over at Playground Games must be wizards. As they managed to get Forza Horizon 3 running at 4K @ 30FPS, with no dropped frames. Nope, not one hint of frame rate drop. Then there’s the HDR, which simply looks amazing. The is supposed to load faster as well, but I haven’t really noticed it.

Being 100% honest, it’s really hard to tell the Xbox One X version and the PC version apart. Well, outside of the frame rate. No hyperbole here, folks. But don’t take my word for it. If you have both, test it out for yourself.

Seriously, Playground Games needs to be commended for this recent update. And if you to know how they did it and why, check out their recent interview regarding the update, here.

Now, I need to get back to drooling over this game so more.
