Super Meat Boy Is Now out for Nintendo Switch

Everybody’s favorite meat-based precision platformer Super Meat Boy is now available on the Nintendo Switch. As promised in a tweet back on December 24th, Team Meat has brought the original game to Nintendo’s latest console, and even included a brand new Race Mode. Two players can now go head-to-head in vertical split screen as they compete to finish levels first.

As with the PS4 and Vita versions of the game, Super Meat Boy on the Nintendo Switch does not feature the original soundtrack. Composer Danny Baranowsky retained the full rights to the music he created for the game, and declined to license it to Team Meat when they approached him about their Sony console releases. Whether he declined again, or Team Meat just didn’t reach out to him for the Switch version, is currently unknown.

Originally released in 2010, Super Meat Boy has made its way onto practically every platform over the years (and is still playable on the Xbox One via backward compatibility). There have also been a number of physical releases of the game. It’s a fantastic, challenging title that’s definitely worth picking up for $14.99 on Nintendo’s eShop.
