With a proper localization effort

NIS America has finally given the PC lease of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA date. Those of us who have waited and waited will be happy to know that the release is now Jan. 30, 2018. The game is priced at $59.99 and is available for pre-order on Steam right now.

While Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA was released previously on the PlayStation 4, the game had an issue with the localization. While many of us who weren’t familiar with the original Japanese release, those who had seen and or played it cried foul. Seemingly, NIA America had dropped the ball on the localization, and after seeing the differences, I can see why everyone was upset. This prompted NIS America to delay the PC version so that it could be released with a proper localization (as well as patches for the PS4 ) version.

The PS4 4 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA has been available in North America since September 12, 2017. So as you can imagine, the wait has been pretty hard on the PC gaming crowd.

Included in the PC version release are game optimizations and the localization revisions originally announced in October. The localization revisions include improvements to the game’s script, adjustments to graphical text and re-recorded audio. These improvements will also make their way to the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions as well.

What’s more, there will be several pieces of DLC that will be available for anyone who picks up the PC version. These will be free until Feb. 6, 2018 at 10AM PST/1PM EST.

  • Adol’s Adventure Essentials DLC – Includes Adol’s Silver Armor, Adol’s Adventurer Clothes, and Adol’s Survival Kit
  • Digital Mini Art Book – Includes a 32-page full-color art book
  • Digital Soundtrack Sampler – Includes 5 tracks
  • Laxia’s “Eternian Scholar” Costume

Looks like I’ll be double dipping. I enjoyed the PS4 version of the game. However, I was really waiting for this PC release.
