Microsoft giving out free Killer Instinct codes and more

By Keith MitchellNovember 6, 2013

*Update* It seems that Microsoft is sending out the codes for Killer Instinct in waves and as long as you have a decent standing during your tenure with Xbox Live then you will mostly likely get a code. Microsoft making them million dollar moves!

So the news as of recent is that Microsoft has been sending out codes for the full version of Killer Instinct that will be appearing on the Xbox One. Now unlike the codes the most people will get, these codes will give the full roster which is a hell of a deal considering that each character is $5 a piece or $20 if you purchase the Combo Breaker Pack. Microsoft has confirmed that this is indeed legit and that several factors such as gamer score and age of the users Xbox Live account are deciding factors on if you are selected for the code.

But it gets better it seems for some lucky and loyal gamers. Apparently not only are they doing this for Killer Instinct but also for free Xbox One consoles. At first glimpse it seems that this is reserved for those with super high gamer scores and / or Microsoft MVPs. Now I know that Microsoft is looking for some good press and this is a step in the right direction, I mean who can dislike free stuff. But from what I’m seeing on the internet a lot of veterans of Xbox Live are being over looked in the process. Hell I won’t even lie, I’d love a free code for Killer Instinct or a Xbox One as I’ve been with Xbox Live since they rolled it out and even lost my original gamer tag to Microsoft way back when you couldn’t change the name of your account or if your subscription ran out. Even to this day I have two different Xbox Live gamer tags (one for me and my kids) and 3 different Xbox 360’s.

Yeah Microsoft I’m supporting you as well, show me as well as the other supports some love as well!
