Assassin’s Creed Origins PC To Receive HDR Support In Patch 1.1.0

Hey, look. HDR support for the PC is back

Back in November, we reported on Ubisoft going back on their word to add HDR support for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed Origins. Not only did the company try to cover up their previous announcement, but their customer support was also less than helpful when trying to get to the bottom of their reasoning for the removal. However, it looks like they either wised up or got tired of the PC gaming community asking them what the deal was.

In the upcoming 1.1.0 patch, which releases tomorrow, HDR support is coming to the PC. Check out a snippet of the update, below.

Patch Highlights

  • Added a new “Nightmare” difficulty mode
  • Added an NPC scaling option, “Enemy Auto-Level”, that makes enemies’ level scale up to player’s level
    • Please note: Enemy levels will only scale up to player level, they will not scale down
  • Added a new “Horde Mode” to the Arena
  • [PC] Added support for HDR display

Not only is HDR support coming, but they are also addressing the performance issue that was noticed when playing the game in borderless mode. This affected Nvidia cards, I’m not too sure about the AMD GPUs. For more info on the upcoming patch, click here.

We’ve reached out to Ubisoft to find out why the sudden change of heart. However, I suspect we won’t get an answer. But in the case that we do, we’ll be sure to update this piece.
