Weekly Outerhaven YouTube Roundup October 29, 2017

We here at the Outerhaven want you to know us not only for our passions surrounding gaming, tech, television, movies, anime, manga, etc. Every week we’re going to deliver to you a list of videos we have been checking out while cyberloafing the internet. It gives you a chance to see another side to us, one that isn’t focused on covering the latest news or reviews. While this list will be largely safe for work, we must warn against things that may incite any phobias that you may have. Enjoy!

Sara’s Pick:

This is the single greatest Halloween song that isn’t even about Halloween – it’s about actual cannibal Shia LaBeouf. Originally making its way through the Internet as just as audio file with a little background music and the basic lyrics, this video gives the song the treatment it deserves. Several choirs, interpretive dancers, acrobats, that one kid who says “quiet, quiet” like a boss, this song is the best thing ever and listening to it is the only confirmed way of surviving an attack by Shia LaBeouf.

Ramy’s Pick:

2 years old, yeah I know! But as Final Fantasy 7 being the first JRPG I ever played, and the gateway to my love for JRPGs, I feel like this video gives a new light to an already well established story.

Clinton’s Pick:

Bill Wurtz is a damn genius. I mean…he’s a F*CKING GENIUS. His videos are small pieces of happy times, but some of them can be pretty educationally whimsy. The History of Japan is one of these videos, which condenses the history of Japan until modern day according to his interpretation of facts that he learned.

Jon’s Pick:

With the release of Destiny 2 for the PC earlier this week, a friend provided this video to a bunch of us so we could refresh ourselves on the lore and story of Destiny so far. Tuesday before firing up the game for the first time, I decided to have some dinner and watch the video. Turns out it’s an hour and a half long! Completely worth a watch, even if Destiny lore isn’t something you thought you cared about.

Josh’s Pick:

Maynard James Keenan is my favorite artist. He is the lead singer of Tool, which is also my all-time favorite band, as well as A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. While Tool is in the middle of producing their next album, Maynard got back together with A Perfect Circle and released their first new song since 2004! With a new album due out next year (including this song), the level of hype I’m experiencing right now is off the charts!

Will’s Pick:

His famous quote. Bruce Lee is a martial artist and a way, philosopher. We insist on making things complicated for ourselves. But when it comes down to it, the answer is simple. Be like water, that is able to adapt to any situation. Keep this playing on repeat in your phone. It will help you to remind of this simple way of thinking. At least for me, it has become my mantra.

Remember to be water my friend.

Liz’s Pick:
This video amuses me way too much.

That’s all for week’s roundup. Tune back in next week to see what we are sharing next!
