Sega Wants To Know If You Want More Yakuza In The West

Despite what was said in the past, Sega took a risk and ported over several Yazuka titles to the West and they were super effective. Who would have thought that a niche series would have such an impact and sell as well as it did? Yes, I’m being very sarcastic here, I haven’t had my coffee just yet.

So color me surprised when I was forward a survey from none other than Sega, regarding more Yakuza in the West. In this survey, Sega is flat out asking if we want to see more of these games in North America, including the newly announced Fist of the North Star game Hokuto ga Gotoku. It’s a short survey with only 4 questions, but are those question are really straightforward.

Do you want a Kiwami-styled remake of Yazuka 2 in the new Dragon Engine? The First of the North Star game?

There’s one other question that really hits home for me – Do we want an F2P game based in the Yakuza universe for iOS/Android and PC?

Now, think about that for a second. We could basically have either a Yakuza MOBA or even a game like WoW based in the Yakuza. Hell to the yes, I’d love to see that. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to see the games ported over to the PC because I do. In fact, give us those first if you’re doing anything at all.

It’s worth mentioning that this survey doesn’t mean anything is coming. More along the lines that Sega wants to gauge how much interest is here.

More Yakuza in the west please!

If you want more Yakuza in the West, I implore you to take this survey. You can access it by going to this link.

Do it for more Yakuza, do it for the fans, do it for Phantasy Star Online 2!
