Yakuza Kiwami 2 Comes to PS4 in Japan This December

By Yhani JonesAugust 26, 2017

Before the world-wide release of the PlayStation’s exclusive Yakuza remake, Yakuza Kiwami, even hits shelves, recent news surfaces about its sequel getting an “extreme” remake as well, and fans of the series are absolutely pumped!

Yakuza 2 released overseas in Japan on December 7th of 2006, and now Japan will be getting the official remake, Yakuza Kiwami 2 exactly 11 years later on December 7th, 2017.

Check out the official story trailer below.

Yakuza Kiwami 2, unlike the recently updated Yakuza games, is built on the Dragon Engine, the same engine being used for the upcoming game Yakuza 6! Players that pick up this game this winter can definitely expect this game to have a different feel than the previous remakes.

On top of that, expect a brand new scenario featuring the character Majima called “The True Majima” as well as new updated game maps of both Osaka and Tokyo.

Keep in mind, Yakuza Kiwami 2 has not yet been announced for world-wide or North American release but seeing that we have been able to get the previous games Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami, it should only be a matter of time before we get a release announcement as well. Fingers crossed it happens sooner than later!

Until that announcement comes, be sure to grab a copy of Yakuza Kiwami once it releases on August 29th, and check out our review here at The Outerhaven.
