The Rise Of The Tomb Raider On Xbox One X Will Support Native 4K

By Keith MitchellAugust 21, 2017
Rise of the Tomb Raider

Looks like we can add yet another game that will be getting the Xbox One X enhancement treatment. Square Enix has announced that The Rise of the Tomb Raider will support native 4K on the Xbox One X. But that’s not all, as the game will also include three different graphical settings, which will be selectable.

Gamers will be able to choose from a full 4K experience, a higher frame rate or enriched visuals. I’m assuming that last one will be the middle ground. Looks like Square Enix just took a page from Koei Tecmo’s Nioh, which offered the same options on the PlayStation 4 Pro.

  • Native 4K: (full 3840 by 2160) for highest fidelity resolution
  • Enriched Visuals for stunning graphic upgrades
  • High Frame Rate for the smoothest possible gameplay

In addition, the Xbox One X version will support HDR, Dobly Atmos, enhanced textures (mega?) and improved anti-aliasing, improved volumetric lighting, enhanced foliage and more.

Those who already own the Xbox One version of the title will receive the upgrade, for free. So if you plan on getting an Xbox One X and see you a cheap version of the title, be sure to snag it.

You can see the Xbox One X version of The Rise of the Tomb Raider below.

Now I’m curious to see how this stacks up to the PC and PlayStation 4 Pro version. We’ll definitely be doing some sort of comparison video when the title is released.
