Final Fantasy XV Heads To The PC Early 2018

By Keith MitchellAugust 21, 2017
Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition

Remember when Final Fantasy XV was announced for the PS4 and Xbox One, and everyone started asking a PC version would follow-up suit? Of course, Square Enix did their song and dance, but ultimately we never got an actual answer, simply yes or no.

Well, we finally got that answer as Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XV will, in fact, head to the PC. Just announced a short time ago, the title will grace the PC in early 2018. It also looks like Square Enix and Nvidia will be teaming up to bring this JRPG over to the PC. The game will also see a new subtitle as it is being called “Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition“.

“With the help of NVIDIA, we are creating a stunning visual experience in FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION, one worthy of this beloved franchise,” said Hajime Tabata, Director of FINAL FANTASY XV. “NVIDIA pushes the pace of innovation in our industry, and that benefits gamers and developers alike.”

A number of Nvidia exclusive features will be making its way into the title. Technologies such as Nvidia Flow, Hairworks,  Ansel support and much more. In addition to that, the game will also support Dolby Atmos, as well HDR10 and 4K support – but can scale up to 8k!

Made For Windows PC Players.
Supporting high-resolution options and compatible with native 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution and HDR 10. Graphical options can also be configured to support up to 8K. Thanks to NVIDIA, you can experience the beautiful and carefully-crafted world of Eos like never before.

The PC version will also include the Season Pass, meaning all DLC that is currently available on the PS4 and Xbox One will carry over. Now, I wonder if they could do something about those game saves. And just like that, another JRPG is making its way over to the PC.

Just judging from the trailer, this will look to be the best version of the game to date. Yes, even better looking than the PS4 Pro and even the upcoming Xbox One X enhanced version. Here’s hoping that the game doesn’t suffer from the same optimization issues that Square’s more recent PC release, NieR: Automata currently suffers from.
