New Metroid: Samus Returns Promo Art

By Todd BlackJuly 30, 2017
Metroid: Samus Returns

No doubt a major surprise from Nintendo at E3 2017 was the upcoming release of Metroid: Samus Returns. This remake/upgrade of the original Metroid II: Return of Samus is headed to the 3DS, and fans can’t wait to embark on this 2D adventure.

To get fans even more excited, Nintendo of Austrailia tweeted out some cool promo art of the game. We have one as the feature image, and the other is below:

Metroid: Samus Returns

The other interesting thing involving Metroid: Samus Returns is the Amiibo functionality. There will be four Amiibo compatible with the game. The original two Samus figures from the Smash Bros line (in Varia Suit and Zero Suit) and then two new figures coming out for the game. These will unlock art, special boosts to Samus’ power, the official soundtrack for the game, and in the cause of the literal Metroid Amiibo, a “Fusion Mode”.

The Fusion Mode will unlock the fan-favorite Fusion Suit from Metroid: Fusion and have players play the game in it on a harder difficulty. Some are curious as to why Nintendo did this. While others aren’t because they were either going to get the Amiibo anyway, or they weren’t going to do the “Hard Mode”.

Will you be getting the game? Will you get the Amiibo’s for it? Let us know in the comments below.

Metroid: Samus Returns comes to 3DS September 15th.
