Gran Turismo Sport Is Set To Launch This October

By Keith MitchellJuly 13, 2017

OMG, is simply all that I can say right now. With delay after delay, Sony has finally announced that gran turismo Sport will finally be released for the playstation 4. October 18th, 2017, folks is when we’ll finally be able to play the latest Gran Turismo title in the comfort of our homes.

I can not wait, well outside of being forced to wait.

In fact, Kazunori Yamauchi, himself has provided a few words regarding pending launch of Gran Turismo Sport.

Hello GT Fans!

I’m extremely excited to confirm that Gran Turismo Sport will be launching on October 18th across Europe this year. Following the successful completion of our Closed BETA phase, as announced earlier this week, we are now entering the final stages of polishing as we prepare for launch.

Between now and launch you can expect to hear a lot more from the GT team, as we unveil more information on the many features included in Gran Turismo Sport, including the campaign mode, various creative tools, as well as a full reveal on all the cars and tracks you can look forward to racing on launch day!

In the meantime though, I’d like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and PDI, to express my gratitude for the continued support of GT fans and PlayStation supporters around the world during this BETA period. We’re as keen as all of you to get the game into player’s hands, and can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of the game when it launches in October.

We’ve strived to create something that delivers an unprecedented experience in terms of the graphics, sound and physics simulation an experience that can only be enjoyed on PlayStation.

I can only imagine what he is feeling right now.  It’s like watching your own child grow up and finally move out of the house – he definitely should be proud. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve had a pre-order for GT Sport in at Gamestop for a while now. I think it’s time I go pay that off and schedule a few days off from work.

Wow, both Gran Turismo Sport, Forza Motorsport 7, Project CARS 2 and Need for Speed: Payback all in the same year. It’s going to be a good time for racing fans, everywhere.

Gran Turismo Sport on the PS4 Pro will support 4K resolution output using checkerboard upscaling (1800p). It will output in 1080p@60fps, in case you were wondering.
