PlayStation Experience 2017 Will Be Held Overseas in South East Asia

By Yhani JonesJuly 7, 2017

The biggest event for PlayStation finally has an official date, time, and location. That’s right! If you’re over here in the United States like me, grab your passport and pack your bags because for the first time ever, the PlayStation Experience will be taking place overseas!

Rather than the usual West coast location like the past three PSX’s, PlayStation Experience 2017 South East Asia (SEA) will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on August 5, 2017.

Just two months after the E3 2017 conferences, the PlayStation Experience SEA will feature demos of highly anticipated games such as FarCry 5, Knack 2, Detroit: Become Human, Gran Turismo Sport, Everybody’s Golf, and on the PS VR, No Heroes Allowed. These are all of the titles that have been confirmed so far, meaning more could possibly be added in the weeks prior to the event.

Horizon Zero Dawn Panel Discussion at PSX 2016

Last year’s PSX involved a brief presentation along with many PlayStation representatives and developers invited to speak about upcoming games and projects. The 2016 event also lasted two days, whereas this even will only be one, so I expect this show’s format to be different in many ways.

Regardless, I can’t wait to find out what Sony has in store for PlayStation fans next month! Will we finally get the release dates that we have been waiting for from popular titles such as Detroit: Become Human and God of War? Does PlayStation have something up their sleeve that they decided not to reveal at E3 last month? We will definitely have to wait and see!

Just like last year’s PSX, fans that could not attend the event were able to watch via a live stream, and this will most likely be the case for this year’s event as well.

Keep in mind that more information is sure to be revealed as we get closer to the event, so stay tuned here at The Outerhaven for any and all PlayStation Experience news and updates.
