During Kodansha’s panel at Anime Expo 2017, the announced that Fairy Tail creator, Hiro Mashima, will be attending this year’s New York Comic Con! They did not say which days Mashima will be there, but this year’s New York Comic Con starts on Thursday, October 5 and ends on Sunday, October 8.

Mashima’s Fairy Tail is a huge success with two anime series and multiple spinoff manga with characters such as Wendy, Gray, Laxus and Mavis with the latter getting an anime adaptation called Fairy Tail Zero. In fact, Mashima had so many Fairy Tail series going at once, Kodanasha gave him his own magazine on two separate occasions!

In addition, Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry movie is slated to open sometime this summer here in the U.S. and is the second movie in the Fairy Tail franchise. As of the time of this writing, the Fairy Tail manga has four chapters until its conclusion and is currently in the middle of its final battle between Acnologia and the seven Dragon Slayers. Mashima also created the Rave Master manga which also received an anime adaptation. There is no word what Mashima’s next title will be, but he stated that he will continue making manga after Fairy Tail’s conclusion.
