At this year’s Anime Expo, FUNimation made the announcement that Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) will be released on home video  by the end of 2017. The movie is set for a home media release in Japan on July 27. The Special Features that come with the Japanese version of the home release can be found here: https://www.theouterhaven.net/2017/05/your-name-release-date-announced/

The U.S. release of the film will contain the “final” version which will include edits made to the theatrical release as approved by director Makoto Shinkai. The movie will come in different formats including DVD only, Blu-Ray/DVD Combo and a Special Edition.

The Special Edition will include the DVD and Blu-ray versions of the movie as well as artwork and materials from the Japanese release that will not be available in the standard editions of the film. FUNimation will add more details at a future date as to what the special edition will include.

Your Name debuted in Japanese theaters in August of 2016 and earned 24.8 billion yen ($229 million USD). It made its worldwide debut at the 2016 Anime Expo and then made it’s U.S. Theater debut on April 7, 2017 where it earned an additional estimated $4.7 million USD.

A review of the screening copy of Your Name can be found here: https://www.theouterhaven.net/2016/11/kimi-no-na-wa-name-review/ It should be noted that this review will be updated once a Blu-ray copy of the movie can be obtained.
