ReBlade: The Death Spiral Is a Stylish Cyberpunk Action Game Worth Watching

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I have a soft spot for action-adventure games and action RPGs. That is exactly why this new title from developer ChillyRoom and indie game publisher Spiral Up Games is now firmly on my radar. ReBlade: The Death Spiral blends cyberpunk aesthetics with Chinese mythology, putting players in control of a condemned Synthetic fighting to survive.

Survival, of course, means cutting through swarms of enemies and taking on challenging boss, seriously, is there any other way? Based on the gameplay shown so far, combat looks skill driven and intense as you move through a variety of levels. You will also be collecting a wide range of weapons and likely other upgrades, though full details have not been revealed yet.

The trailer may be short, but what is shown is promising. Combat appears fast and chaotic, with the ability to deflect incoming attacks adding an extra layer of depth. Rather than a traditional third person perspective, ReBlade: The Death Spiral uses an isometric camera angle, with some stylish, high speed action title, with flashes of flair that might appeal to fans of games like Devil May Cry or Stellar Blade, or FURI, if you can remember that amazing boss battler game. And when I say flair, I don’t just mean by reflect projectiles, she literally kicks a pair of rockets back to her opponent. That’s some bad-ass stuff right there.

I wish I knew more about the game, but from what I’ve seen so far, I am really looking forward to when we can see some more gameplay from the title.

ReBlade: The Death Spiral does not currently feelhave a release date yet, but you can head over to Steam and wishlist the game. There is no confirmation on console versions at this time, so for now it appears to be a PC focused release.
