JY for Kids, the middle-grade imprint of Yen Press, LLC, is excited to announce that it has acquired its first picture book, Memen & Mori, from award-winning children’s book author Shinsuke Yoshitake.

Memen & Mori

By Shinsuke Yoshitake

Memen & Mori

Meet Memen, the calm and collected elder sister, and Mori, the curious younger brother. When Mori asks big questions like, “What is the meaning of life?” how does big sis Memen respond? Through humorous and tender moments, the two siblings teach that sometimes, the answer to life is less complex than we think.

Yoshitake, known for his down-to-earth humor and unique illustrations enjoyed by kids and adults alike, has written several picture books that capture the imagination while exploring larger-than-life themes and questions. His previous works have received critical acclaim, including There Must Be More Than That!, which was included in The New York Times Notable Children’s Book of the Year for 2020 and the The New York Times 25 Best Children’s Books of 2020; The Boring Book, which was named a 2019 New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children’s Book of 2019. JY is thrilled to be the home for Yoshitake’s latest work.
