Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Details Outlined, PlayStation Network Now Optional

By Keith MitchellJanuary 29, 2025
Marvel Spider-Man 2

Not long ago, PlayStation and Nixxes revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was headed to PC (Steam) with a range of enhancements. Initially, when the port was revealed, many assumed it would offer the same features as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. However, Nixxes has now detailed exactly what’s in store for the PC version with the game being released in just one more day, January 30, 2025.

Here are some of the key features Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC will include:

  • Ultrawide monitor support (21:9, 32:9, 48:9)
  • Multiple monitor support
  • Upscaling technologies: Nvidia DLSS 3.5, AMD FSR 3.1, Intel XeSS
  • Ray-Traced Reflections & Ray Reconstruction
  • Keyboard and mouse support

One of the biggest changes to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC per the original announcement is that PlayStation has finally acknowledged that not all regions have access to PlayStation Network. As a result, linking a PSN account to play the game on Steam will now be optional—a decision we’ve been advocating for at The Outerhaven for quite some time.

As for system requirements, there are multiple presets, ranging from low-end PC configurations to high-end rigs capable of running the game in 4K with extensive ray tracing—demanding nothing short of top-tier hardware.

We reviewed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for the PlayStation 5 back in 2023 and thought it was a great game, though not being able to play as Venom was a disappointment. Speaking of which, with the game coming to the PC, I’m sure there will be a mod that will let people play as Venom. Trust me, it’s coming.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC releases on January 30, 2025, and will be available for anyone who has access to Steam. Thank goodness that PlayStation finally got some sense and is allowing consumers to purchase and play the game in any region.
