The Story

Our volume starts off with Miwa and Tamaki sharing a moment together filled with confusion and pain. When it comes down to it, they end up having a discussion about their relationship, their wants, their needs, how they can give one another the things they are working for, and, ultimately, find a solution that will work for them both.

On the other side of the spectrum, Saeko and Yuria are going through the same thing for different reasons. For Miwa, it was all about her sex drive and Tamaki’s apprehension, for Saeko, it’s seeing how independent Yuria is and how she doesn’t want to lean on her constantly.

What it all boils down it is what’s best for one another. Meanwhile, the band is getting ready for the end of the school year, and, of course, that comes with the typical cultural festival. Plus, a few of the band members are stressing over mock interviews, exams, job searches, and everything else that comes with leaving school and stepping out into the real world.

So much pressure… so many decisions… all of which can impact the future of everyone’s lives!

Characters

The struggles continue for our four main characters. In Miwa and Tamaki’s case, it’s their sexual desires, their wants versus their limitations. It’s mirrored in Miwa and Saeko’s relationship from the beginning of the series but with different aspects to it. They do work through it and figure out what’s best for them which shows both maturity and immaturity at the same time. While it’s mature for them to look at things at such a level and figure out a resolution, it gives off the same vibe that all the characters give off… and that’s not truly knowing or even understanding what they actually want out of things.

As for Yuria and Saeko, Yuria is working on her solution to their relationship problems by distancing herself from Saeko more than usual. She wants that time to cry on her own, to feel independent, and not have to lean on Saeko. It works for her; however, for Saeko, it has a weird effect.

As we remember, Saeko suffered from migraines a lot. Suddenly, those headaches have started to disappear or at least become less frequent. There are a few factors at play here that have caused that and there is a moment when Saeko brings this to Miwa’s attention and they kind of figure out what has been happening to Saeko this whole time. When Saeko finds her answer, she also discovers another answer to a burning question!

Final Thoughts

Again, problems are the name of the game here; however, these problems did come with solutions… some nice, some bittersweet, and some just downright unfair; however, solutions are solutions no matter how you view them but I will say, that we only have two volumes left in the series and the final arc has been set up perfectly with this volume. The pieces of the puzzle are in place as we head towards our conclusion. Whether the events that have been set in motion will happen in the next volume or be held off until the final volume remains to be seen but, they are coming sooner rather than later.

What I did like is that the solutions to these problems for our characters weren’t just thrown at us like it was some plot point that needed to get said. The series took the time to explore every detail… every aspect and made those solutions understandable and acceptable. It was as if we were right there with the characters talking through and working the problems with them every step of the way. That attention to detail was appreciated because far too many series don’t explore things as deeply as this one does.

We’ll see how things wrap up from here… although… you can probably guess just where the destination lies with this one.
