KADOKAWA Reveals Future Plans for Anime Titles

According to KADOKAWA’s Chief Officer Takeshi Kikuchi, the company plans on creating a more stable anime production plan by looking for more sequels and more episodes. The belief is that by looking towards creative ideas such as making sequels to hit series and increasing their number of episodes will outshine their current plan of taking on more products which will result in thinner profits due to high costs.

Kikuchi also remarked that they would like to open more studios as he feels that projects can be divided amongst their current studios based on that studio’s individual characteristics.

As of now, Kikuchi added that KADOKAWA’s revenue on anime alone is about ¥30 billion ($190 million). Under this new plan, he wishes to increase that by 1.5 times over the next three years.
