DCU’s Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow Film Has Started Production!

Behold, the "Woman of Tomorrow"

Supergirl Woman Of Tomorrow

It may have only been a “vision” to start, but James Gunn’s DCU is now off and running, with one project set to drop this year, one already out on Max to watch, and another has officially started filming. That film being Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow, which will feature Kara Zor-El in her first movie in decades (and no, I don’t count that “cameo” in The Flash…and neither should you!) To celebrate the film’s start of production, James Gunn himself made a post on Twitter showing star Milly Alcock from behind with the “House of El” logo on her chair:

Thrilled to see cameras roll at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden on Supergirl, with Craig Gillespie at the helm and the phenomenal Milly Alcock as our Kara Zor-El. Craig brings an incredible sensibility to this story, and Milly is every inch the unique #Supergirl envisioned by Tom… pic.twitter.com/za9Tr8Vryr

Admittedly, it’s a small tease, but the filming process has only begun! We do know certain castings of the film, including Jason Momoa being Lobo! That alone makes the film one to check out whenever it drops.

The question here is how the film will be quality-wise. We still have only seen one trailer from James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film, and Creature Commandos is either really good or really bad, depending on who you talk to. It’s also important to remember that while Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow will be Kara’s return to the big screen, she was a part of the Arrowverse for many years and earned a fanbase through that. So, this version of Kara has much to live up to.
