CES 2025: My Arcade Teams Up with Bandai Namco & Capcom For the Gamestation Retro Line-up

By Keith Mitchell and Angelique MitchellJanuary 10, 2025

While we’ve already seen the Atari GameStation from My Arcade, the company is developing another retro gaming station featuring titles from Capcom and Bandai Namco. What makes this device particularly interesting is its official partnership with Capcom and Bandai Namco, unlike some similar devices in the past that bundled a collection of ROMs, often illegally, and sold them. And since I happened to be at CES 2025, I was able to see them in person for myself.

However, while I wasn’t able to hold the device due to the constant crowd at the My Arcade booth, I managed to convince the representative to let me see it up close behind the glass. After sharing my love of gaming and reminiscing about classic titles, the gentleman kindly removed the device from behind the glass. Of course, as soon as he did, a crowd gathered to get a closer look, forcing me to fend them off with my tripod.

The device features a D-pad, an analog stick, an eight-inch screen, and front-facing buttons (X, Y, A, B, M1, M2). I wasn’t sure about the purpose of the M1 and M2 buttons as their function wasn’t clearly explained. It also includes left and right triggers, and a chargeable battery, and will retail for $199.99. Additionally, there are four other front-facing buttons: Start, Select, Settings, and a Credit button for adding credits in arcade games. When I asked about the D-pad’s suitability for fighting games, the representative mentioned that research had been conducted to ensure it would work well not only for fighting games but also for other genres.

While we didn’t get an entire list of the 200 games that will be included, here is a short list:

  • Mega Man
  • Strider
  • Final Fight
  • Bionic Commando
  • Street Fighter
  • Rally-X
  • PAC-MAN
  • Pole Position
  • Mappy
  • Dig Dug
  • Galaga
  • 1942

For those who prefer gaming on a TV or monitor, there’s the Gamestation Retro Pro, also priced at $199.99, which can be connected directly to a display for home use.

Two additional accessories will be sold separately: the Gamestation Retro Gamepad for $39.99 and the Gamestation Retro Arcade Stick for $69.99. Both can be connected to the Gamestation Retro and the Gamestation Retro Pro.

Finally, tucked away in another corner were the mini-arcade cabinet versions of the My Arcade Atari Gamestation Portable and Gamestation Retro, called My Arcade Gamestation Mega, that were unfortunately also behind glass. These cabinets feature a 10-inch screen, eight gaming buttons, and a control knob. The Atari version includes a mini-trackpad, while the Bandai Namco variant adds Start, Select, Settings, and Credit buttons. Both models are constructed out of wood and are priced at $299.99.

There’s currently no release window for any of the My Arcade Atari Gamestation or Gamestation Retro items, but I’ve made it clear that I can’t wait to have them in my home. Expect a full review once these devices become available for purchase.
