CES 2025: LG Unveils Game-Changing 5K 2K Bendable OLED Monitor

LG CES 2025 - Bendable 5K monitor -01

Update: Some have pointed out that the LG bendable monitor discussed in this article is not the first bendable monitor and that the Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 did it first. Which is correct, and I never stated that it was. However, the Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 was not a self-bending monitor and you had to do that manually. Secondly, the panel used in that monitor is using a panel developed by LG. I just wanted to make that clear.

During CES 2025, LG was firing on all cylinders; from new laptops with AI, to new TVs, and monitors. But one of the things that I found to be most impressive was a new 5K (2K) bendable OLED monitor, the world’s first of its kind. The LG UltraGear OLED 45X990A is a 45-inch OLED monitor that, with the press of a button, can change from a flat panel to a curved one. And believe me, those buttons were pressed constantly. Just about everyone who came over to check out the monitor couldn’t restrain themselves from watching it in action, myself included.

Check it out in action for yourself.

The LG UltraGear OLED 45X990A includes the following features:

  • Bendable WUHD (5,120 x 2,160) OLED panel with multiple curved settings (0.03 ms response time)
  • Dual-mode (can connect two HDMI or 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort)
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 1 DisplayPort
  • 1x USB-C PD port that outputs 96W
  • Built-in stereo speakers

The LG UltraGear OLED 45X990A looks amazing in person, and it could be my next monitor. However, after speaking with multiple LG representatives, there isn’t an announced release window or price as of yet. When I tried to pry more information out of them, they were tight-lipped. Still, seeing the monitor in action was a truly impressive experience.
