By Josh PiedraJanuary 9, 2025

The latest single by Aqours, the nine-member school idol group from the Love Live! Sunshine!! series of the multimedia Love Live! franchise, has claimed the No. 1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Singles Ranking (dated December 30, 2024). Titled “Eikyuu hours,” the single serves as the theme song for Aqours’ final solo concert, Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours Finale LoveLive! ~Eikyuu Stage~, marking the culmination of their activities in celebration of their ninth anniversary this year.

The first limited-edition Blu-ray includes a live-action music video filmed in Aqours’ hometown of Numazu. The CD also features the coupling track “Bokura no Tabi wa Owaranai,” a collaboration with JR Tokai’s Oshitabi campaign.

This is Aqours’ first No. 1 ranking in approximately six years, and member Anju Inami has shared a comment to celebrate the achievement:

We are truly grateful for the overwhelming love and support from everyone who has cheered on Aqours. Thanks to you, we’ve once again achieved the milestone of claiming the No. 1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Singles Ranking!

Set against the backdrop of Numazu in Shizuoka Prefecture, Love Live! Sunshine!! carries the words and heartfelt emotions of everyone involved with Aqours…!

“Thank you so, so much!”

With this song, we hope that Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours Finale LoveLive! ~Eikyuu Stage~, adorned with the unique brilliance that the nine of us have tirelessly pursued, will resonate with each person’s journey and hold a special place in your hearts.
