Yen Press Announces Global Partnership with Hachette

By Josh PiedraNovember 14, 2024
Yen Press

Yen Press announced a new global partnership with Hachette UK, Hachette India, and Hachette Australia to handle sales and distribution to accounts and retailers outside of North America. Services for Yen Press will go live through Hachette UK starting 12/16/24, through Hachette India on 2/3/25, and Hachette Australia on 4/1/25.

Yen Press is the latest publisher to join Hachette UK as part of their third-party expansion plans. Other noteworthy publishers who formed a partnership with Hachette UK include Profile Books, who joined in 2021; Elsevier, who joined in 2022; Flame Tree Publishing and British Library Publishing, who joined in 2023; Pinnacle Books and Lonely Planet, who joined earlier in 2024; and Hay House and Bloomsbury Publishing, who will join in early 2025. Hachette UK is home to the most advanced warehousing technology in the UK publishing industry and has been a market leader in book distribution since 2020, aided by a strong sales team representing the distributor and their client publishers.

Russell Evans, Business Development Director, says, “We’re all equally pleased and excited to be welcoming Yen Press to the Hachette family for sales and distribution services in the UK, India, Australia, and New Zealand. We already have the pleasure of working with Yen Press at Hachette Book Group US, so the inclusion of these additional territories makes this a truly global partnership.”

Kurt Hassler, Publisher and Managing Director of Yen Press, says of the move, “Yen Press began as an imprint under HBGUS and has benefitted significantly from their exceptional sales and distribution services since transitioning to a client services relationship. We are thrilled to be expanding this partnership working with Hachette UK, India, and Australia & New Zealand and look forward to increasing the availability of manga, light novels, and manhwa at a global level together.”
