Survios Delays Alien: Rogue Incursion Release on Meta Quest 3 Until 2025

I know many Meta Quest 3 owners were eagerly awaiting Survios’s Alien: Rogue Incursion this year. Unfortunately, there’s been a snag: the Meta Quest version has been delayed to an unspecified date in 2025. However, fans with PlayStation VR2 and Steam VR will still see the game launch on December 19, 2024.

At Survios, we take pride in delivering top-tier immersive gaming experiences for our players. To ensure Alien: Rogue Incursion meets these high standards and provides the Alien VR experience that fans and players expect, we’ve made the difficult decision to delay the game’s release on Meta platforms until early next year. PlayStation VR2 and Steam versions of the game will still launch on December 19, 2024.

Our team has been delighted to see the reactions from the community, press, and creators following our first hands-on previews over the past few weeks, and we couldn’t be more excited to deliver this terrifying, action-packed, and authentic game for fans of Alien, VR enthusiasts, and players new to VR.

We can’t wait for you all to immerse yourselves like never before in this fan-favorite universe. Stay tuned to our social channels for the latest updates on the game – we’re confident it will be worth the wait, no matter where you play.

Developing a game across multiple platforms is tough enough, but creating one for various VR headsets? That’s a whole new level of complexity. I was looking forward to Alien: Rogue Incursion on the Meta Quest 3 for the convenience of a self-contained headset. But since it’s been delayed on Quest, I’ll just switch over to Steam VR or dust off the PSVR 2 in my office, that same one that’s been sitting in my office collecting dust since I purchased it.

For anyone unfamiliar with Alien: Rogue Incursion, think of it as the opposite of Alien: Isolation. Instead of running from the Alien, you’ll play as ex-Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks, heavily armed and ready to take down anything in your path. Personally, that sounds like a blast!
